Moreton Bay Building and Pest Inspections conducts pre purchase building and pest inspections for home buyers, home owner/occupier inspections for owners of existing homes who are looking to maintain their property in good condition, investment property inspections for owners of investment properties looking to maximise their return while limiting liability and provides construction consulting services including new home progress and handover inspections throughout South East Queensland.

With extensive formal training and qualifications in the building, construction and timber pest management sectors you can be assured of the quality of the inspection and reporting process.

Located in the Moreton Bay Region Moreton Bay Building and Pest Inspections is a branch business of M & D Johnston Building Contractors.

The business has been established for 22 years, and is owned and operated by Matthew and Daile Johnston.

Both Matthew and Daile have lived and worked in the region all of thier lives.

Matt started as an apprentice carpenter/joiner with a local Caboolture builder in 1989. In the following years Matt gained extensive experience in new home construction, renovations and repair work as result of timber pest attack and dilapidation.

As part of a highly regarded team of tradesman Matt worked across an extensive range of disciplines in locations as far South as the Redlands, Brisbane, through the Pine Rivers, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast and the Hinterlands. A lengthy stint on Moreton Island also forms part of Matt’s experience

He is a fully trade qualified and QBCC licenced Carpenter/Joiner, a QBCC licenced trade contractor, a QBCC licenced builder, a QBCC licenced building inspector, a QBCC licenced timber pest inspector and a Queensalnd Health licenced pest management technician.

His experience spans:

Domestic Construction including:

• All types of new home construction including low and high set slab on ground (brick veneer, cavity brick, masonry block and cladded)
• Low and high set with timber sub-floor and pole construction.
• Extensive dismantling, rebuilding and rectification work as a result of timber pest attack and dilapidation.
• Renovations.
• Repairs to structures as a result of fire, water entry and dilapidation.
• Maintenance.

Commercial Construction including:

• Tilt panel concrete.
• Iron clad steel framed.
• Commercial fit outs.

Civil construction including:

Daile has a background in legal and accounting professions and has worked within the business for the past 22 years. Daile is highly experienced in the operations of a building and construction business.
